Hi,
Yes you guessed it I have caught corn fever. I have two beardies but going to buy food for them takes me to reptile shops and everytime I am there buying food I seem to be attracted and spend quite some time gazing at the corns. I am new to snakes and have gathered they are the best for beginneres. Now I need to buy all the correct equipment, now as I am a northerner i am tight fisted and dont think I could afford to buy all this brand new so was wondering if anybody had any thing that I would need to house and keep a corn that they would sell for a reasonable price. I live in he North East so could collect.
Thank you all.

What age corn are you getting? It all depends what you want really, if you want them on show or want to watch them a lot then you could make a viv for around £30, youre next viv would be cheaper as you would already have some of the materials. For smaller corns there is a shop called au natural that are selling various secure plastic boxes for £2 - 4, they would just need holes drilling in them. Im thinking of buying some for hatchlings. If you look around you can also buy larger ones for keeping adults in. Whatever you choose, just make sure it is secure and has no gaps as they are notorious escape artists. You should come along to our meetings, someone is always getting rid of something. If you start with a hatchling then you can buy them cheaper from breeders instead of shops saving probably half the price. I also know people selling adult corns aswell. Look at www.snakebreeder.comhe is very reasonable. For smaller snakes you could use a small glass jar as a water bowel and an old small tupperware container as a hide. But you would need to buy a heatmat a matstat to ensure correct temperatures and safety for youre snake plus home.( fires have been started by heatmats, please read the instructions fully) Use paper towel as substrate or even newspaper if youre on a low budget. If you need to know the cheapest materials we have found for building a viv then look on the vivs section, Im sure we have mentioned these things on there.(If not let me know)
