My carolina corn by the name of Roast beef(named by my daughter) has produced her first eggs. She is still in the nesting box as we thought we would give her 30 hours to finish off, so later tonight we will give you an update on how many eggs we have. We have a home made incubator, which has been set up for a few weeks, all ready for the eggs. We can see 8 but havent disturbed her to see if there are any more. I cant wait to see them. Angi

We counted 13 eggs last night, although they mostly look like slugs to me, this may be because she wasnt eating wonderfully. I will post photos soon, tell me wha you think. Angi

Congratulations Angi
Although they look no good are you going to keep incubating them anyway? And at least the mum made it ok with no problems. That one on the right looks really good, and even if you only get one baby then it was still worht it. Good luck with them, keep us posted.

Yes we are incubating them all.
The mother still doesnt want to eat, ive tried pinkies and fuzzies to no avail, maybe she will eat after sloughing.

She hasn't moved much in the last couple of days.I think the egg laying really took it out of the poor girl. Her eyes arent cloudy yet but her skin colour has gone dull.hopefully she will slough in a couple of days and start eating again

I hate to seem pessimistic here, Shane (and Angi), but if she hasn't eaten since laying, and she's lethargic and dull (without noticing other pre-shed signs), I would be in quite a hurry to take her to a decent vet for a checkup. It's possible (although hopefully not probable) that she's retained an egg.
I hope I'm wrong, but if not, she needs vet attention quickly.

Looking at the pic. above I don't think she has any eggs left in her.

I'm probably just paranoid, Paul. It just worries me to hear of a lethargic, non-eating corn... it's so uncharacteristic.

Just checked her over. her eyes have gone very milky and she doesn't appear to have retained any eggs.she has gone that skinny that any eggs would stand out like a sore thumb.
