Wednesday 18 August A windy day with rain over the UK. Rain clearing the south and west late in the day leaving some sunshine, thundery showers for the southwest. A cool day in the northeast (16 to 18C) but warm in any sunshine in the west and south (21-23C) Thursday 19 August A windy day with a lot of cloud, but with some limited sunny intervals and some showers. The strong winds will render the chance of thunderstorms rather low. The north-east will stay mostly dry, the south and west picking up a fair number of showers. Friday 20 August . Another very windy day. Prolonged outbreaks of rain are expected in central and northern districts where it will be rather cool and damp with highs of 14 to 17C. The south will be warmer with a few sunny intervals and a few showers. Overall, an increasingly windy week is expected, with cloud amounts increasing and with showery weather and thunderstorms being replaced by more prolonged spells of rain. Temperatures, on the face of it, may not look spectacular, but the high winds, southerly airflows and cloud cover will keep night minima well above average. The exception will be coastal districts of the north east, which after seeing a fortnight dominated mainly be coastal cloud in places, is likely to see an increase in sunshine and maximum temperature relative to the last couple of weeks.

THANKYOU. ;D I had a great evening watching the fantastic electric storm that passed over here at teatime. It went onfor ages with loads of lightning all over the sky. It was almost reminiscent of last August(was it the 16th?) when it went dark at 11am.
