Looks good Angi - loads of nice nooks and crannies for them to hide in. Have you got a moist hide for them? Do you mist yours? I've found mine great to watch. They are starting to get a bit of confidence now - they run out to feed etc. I'm very chuffed with them.

We did mist them as Lauren said she sprays hers rather than giving them a water bowl, but we are going to do a literature search aswell to see what the general concensus is on humdity etc. We dont have a moist hide yet, do you? for any one planning to get some of these delightful creatures here is a link to a good care sheet www.geckoworld.co.uk/care_t.fasciata.htm

After looking through a few more care sheets we will probably only mist a corner of the cage twice weekly and keep a water bowl in there. I have put links to numerous viper gecko care sheets in the care sheet section, just in case anyone is interested.

I was just curious about the misting. As they come from similar places as Leopards I am treating them the same. I haven't been misting mine but they do have a water bowl and a moist hide. Like I say I was curious - I was talking to someone about them tonight and she both mists and has a water bowl in with hers. I think it's a case of what ever works well for you and your animals is best.

At least we are trying to ensure the best care for our animals Jackie. By chatting to others who have experience and reading as much as we can. Shall we keep each other updated of any new information that we come across on here? Maybe add it in the section on care sheets. who knows one day we might be able to compile our own care sheet for them. Another idea I had for names was after planets. Im thinking of naming my 3 hatchlings after some of them, Im probably naming my ghost Neptune, my reverse okeettee Saturn and my amel Jupiter, so that leaves pluto, uranus, earth, mars, venus, and mercury if youre interested How about snap, crackle and pop?

I'm already using the name Twinkle for one of my Cresteds (after Dinnerladies characters!!). I think I'll name after chocolate bars Aero and Minstrel for the females and Rolo for the male - they seem to suit them!! Yes it's a great idea to share info we gather. I think along with books shared experiences are the best way to learn. Have you tried offering yours waxworms? It's surprising the size of waxworm they can easily eat!

Nice viv Angi! I'm really chuffed with my trio too, ill try and get some pics but im struggling with my pc at the mo, both usb ports have broke. I have a water bowl and i just dampen one corner about three times a week. However, contradictory to common belief i have caught one of my vipers maybe? drinking from the bowl on two occasions, i think its always better to have one than not eyh! i also have a little bottle top full of calcium in there and ill let you know if they use it. Its nice to see all your vipers together, when lauren brought mine round they all ran into the same cave and since then they all have their own preffered hides rather than staying together. I fed them earlier and they all went mad! the male started wagging his little tale and started doing a funny strut...very fascinating, have you noticed behaviour similar to this or not? Anyway, good look with yours and you too Jackie....not that you'll both need it! Ill keep you posted. Alan
