Anyone else on here ever keep fish? I used to have a few tanks full. I (stupidly) started with cichlids. They are very aggresive fish and mostly fought each other to death, not a nice experience. I kept the tank requirements right with loads of rocks etc, and didnt have many as it wasnt the largest tank( about 30 inches or so). i was assured by an aquatics shop(Ihasten to add not Billingham aquatics where I shouldve gone) that they would be fine, there were 8 I think. There number dwindled to 4 then they settled down for quite a while, before they started to scrap again. I was successful with my community tanks, breeding many guppies. My favourite was my red puffer fish. I love puffer fish they have such personality. I gave my last tank of fish to a local shop to sell on, to make space for the snakes.

My Dad used to be really into tropical fish, before he got a bad back and we discovered reptiles!! He mainly kept cichlids too from Lake Malawi. My favourites were Frontosas (not sure if that's how it's spelt) and Blue Dolphins.

We also kept fish which slowly got pushed out by my ever growing collection of reptiles! We started with coldwaters, then went onto tropicals - I love green sailfin mollies and kribensis, then we progressed onto Marines! We had a black saddled puffer (george michael) , a fireball angel (Jerry lee lewis), a dwarf lionfish (spike) and a fire-fish (rick)! But the marines went after I bought my very large royal pythons and needed a viv for them.
