This way we wont clash with the Norwich show, as Im sure a few people will be going. Im voting for Monday 26th July. Does anyone else want to hire a function room ? Does anyone know somewhere with a free function room?

Most pubs that have function rooms will let you have them free Monday to Friday. The Salutation, Billingham has two small rooms upstairs, the Smiths on t he green,Billingham has a room upstairs that is free and a small room downstairs.

Both are about the same. The Salutation has two nicely sized rooms upstairs about 20' x 15' from memory. The Smiths is a large room upstairs, and maybe a bit big for our group but they have a small rom downstairs at the back which is good.

As not many people have voted I will just arrange the meeting for monday the 26th August, shall we say 7pm onwards? I will ring a couple of places tonight regarding a function room and post the location on here very soon.

The pubs Ive tried so far will not allow pets in them. So Im waiting to find out if we can use my local community centre, they said Tuesday 27th for 1 1/2 hours on the evening might be available and will ring me today to confirm detail and rates. We could just divide the cost between who ever turns up on the night if everyone is agreeable.

Have you tried the Smiths Arms? They let us take our animals in there when we had our meetings

Yeah, that was the first one I tried. I also mentioned that a friend had suggested the pub ? if they had used it in the past for the same thing. But they were adamant we cant use it! I couldnt find the Salutation, Billingham, only one in Stockton. Im still waiting to hear from the community centre, they are open til 8 tonight. At this rate we will end up having a barbecue at ours instead

The community centre cannot accommodate us as they have loads of kids every evening. They said it wouldnt be possible to keep the kids out of our room. So it looks like the usual venue, shall we just make it a week on Sunday then at least we know the usual crowd might make it? Next Monday isnt a good night for us now ( apologies for this late change it is unavoidable)

The meeting will be this coming Sunday, in the usual place. We might be a little late (7.30 ish) as we are planning to go to the rock n blues custom motorbike festival on this weekend in Derbyshire. But we will definately be coming.
