Cresteds mating...

Hi everyone

Tonight, for only the second time in two years of keeping them, I saw my Cresteds mating. I dashed to get my digital camera to take a pic, pressed the button and the bloomin batteries were flat. Why is it when you need them you can never find any spare batteries?! I was annoyed - anyhoo it was still exciting to see...

Hey thats great Jackie, they make quite a bit of noise don,t they. I have a pair set up in a viv now in my bedroom [they have been up graded from a habitrail ] and they make one hell of a racket.

Thats great Jackie. I got quite excited when my corns mated. I still love to see them shed their skins.
Sikorae, how do you sleep with all that racket?

Julie - I know!! Soon you won't have any space left in your room - lol. I can usually hear them but never get to see. So now I've got the Cresteds and the Gargoyles at it keeping me awake at night. The Gargoyles are noisier though - they bark like the Tokays.

Angi - Dad got to see his male Jungle Carpet python shed on Sunday. It was quite a treat for dad as he (the JCP not my dad) only sheds about twice a year. The snake is nearly six foot so as you can imagine the skin was huge.

Thats great Jackie, little ones soon then. How do you incubate the eggs? Do you have an incubator or do you do it at room temperature?

Hopefully they'll start producing again! I got some cresty eggs last week of my big 'uns downstairs but I think I cught the eggs a bit late coz they look a bit weird!

We have two incubators already set-up Jimmy - one for my eggs and one for Dad's stuff. I tried incubating at room temperature last year but the eggs went mouldy.
