Does anyone have any idea the species of my lizard it is about 5" long including tail which is vertically flat like a croc'. Coloured dark green and grey mottled. It came to me in a sub-rainforest set-up, including fire belies, green tree frogs oak toad and various thingyroaches. ps. how do you get a picture onto this bit? Hooray done it at last. Any ideas now?

We would definately need to see a picture - I can't think of anything like that off the top of my head. To get pictures on host them to another site (I use kingsnake.com) then once uploaded right click on it and go to properties. Once on properties copy the url link on there and paste it between picture and that should do it!

hmm, if it was housed communally it could be an anole, but then as we all know some people like to keep completely the wrong animals together here are some photos of anoles:

Thanks for your replys guys. I've tried doing the url thing but it didn't work. Will consult the oracle and try again. It's not an anole but quite simular. Tha green tree frog gives a scale of how small this lizard is. As far as I know this is fully grown?

Im just consulting my books and it does look a lot like an anole. Have you tried doing a search for anoles on the net?

Thanks everyone for your imput. It seem there are almost infinate variations of brown anoles. My lizard does have a white line down it's throat which could be a ' flag '. But most of the anole pictures show a round tail rather than a vertically flat tail. Mind you the bark anole looks to have a flater tail. Meanwhile any tips on feeding and care of my collection is greatly appriciated as I'm quite new to this. I have moved the day gecko into another viv after it killed my green anole and bit the end off of the other lizards tail. Still in the viv are two fire bellied toads, an oak toad, the lizard, two green tree frogs, some death head thingyroaches and a couple of hissing thingyroaches. I feed a variaty of small crickets soft fruit, fish flakes and whole dry dog food. The tank has uv and incadesent light plus a side mounted heat mat. I spray the inside twice a week to help keep up the humitity. Anything else I should be doing? Should I clean the tank out or should I maintain what appears to be a little eco-system.
