We(Shane really) had actually decided not to go to the rock n blues this year partly because we didnt like most of the bands that much. But after driving over to the lakes on Friday and being unable to get camped(first time ever in 10 years) we decided to cut our loses and go. So after 7 hours of driving we eventually got there.
By the time we had pitched tents and got into the main field it was about 8 pm and we had missed a couple of bands, but we did get to see Slade who were great. I especially enjoyed the atmosphere (after a couple of cans) when they played there xmas song, the crowd went wild. They were a great party atmosphere band. Then Thunder played and were excellent.Ecuse the drunken photo
The next day Beth pestered me to go on rides so eventually the hangover died down and we went on the waltzer. Now I go on all rides and have never been ill, in fact theyre never fast enough for me. This was TOO fast, lasted 10 -15 minutes and to make it worse we were being spun around by a couple of blokes every minute. Poor Beth was thrown up against the side while I clung to her with every bit of strength in my body. She was giggling away for 5 minutes and then seemed to go into shock. We got off and lay down for 10 minutes, then ran to the toilets where Beth threw up and I came close. It took us 2 hours of lying in our tent to recover enough to actually walk about! NEVER EVER again!
So Shane who didnt go on the waltzer went to look at the custom bikes which we missed( we had planned to look at them in the afternoon, but were too ill) And he didnt take photos. We managed to catch the last few bikes driving off after winning their prizes. I managed to get a photo of my favourite bike anyway.
There was a fantastic Scottish drum and bagpipe band called Saur patrol who we have seen before, they decided to set up and play in the crowd for half an hour before hitting the main stage. Mental scottish b******ds( thats what they had on their Tshirts). They were wearing the costumes worn in William wallace and looking d**n fine.

Later we had the delights of Girlschool, lol, who were just as crap as they have always been, poor things, If only they could get someone to write a song for them they would possibly be good cos they can play ! Twisted sister had a come back, and were also incredibly crap. But the two bands that i didnt expect to enjoy were Bad manners and Bob Geldoff, Bad manners were really good, even though I dont like there music and Bob was great. Beth certainly enjoyed dancing to them, I think she enjoyed bad manners most.
Im glad we went anyway and we will return next year aswell. Did anyone else from here go?
