As some of you already know by now I am leaving Billingham Aquatic centre to go to another shop. Its going to be 3 doors down from Billingham - I have previously laughed about the new shop saying how pants it will be BUT I had some friends go down to find out what the new shop will be about and I was amazed when the guy said he had no one to run it and he was desperate for someone who knew fish and reptiles. My boss at Billingham is already in the process of selling the shop to a guy who I don't want to work for so I was thinking of leaving anyway (I was even thinking of going to Tesco!). Anyway I went and had a talk to the owner of the new shop and he explained he wanted someone to manage a reptile room, fish room and small animals and birds! He was chuffed to bits when I said I wanted to do it and I was given a budget and loads of suppliers to look at. It turns out the new shop will have 100 vivs and 100 aquariums - I get say of what livestock goes into it! So you will have to come and have a nosy when its up and running which should be just before christmas.

I went to see Neal yesterday and he said that we should remain friends. BUT I went to my wholesaler friend yesterday to see him and he said that Neal had rang him and told him that he shouldn't dealwith me now coz I haven't got a pet-shop licence!!!! Tom told me that I did much more business with him than Neal so he would just try and deal with both of us! Then today I went to ring Monkfield Nutrition the livefood suppliers and was told that Neal had rang them and told them not to do me trade anymore! The reason I had trade with them in the first place was because I was selling them livestock and NOT because I worked in BAC! I'm extremey annoyed - I've got to talk to the boss of Monkfield later to confirm whether or not I actually have an account with them anymore!!! If I haven't that will be it - how can I feed all of my animals if I'm paying premium prices - I already spend £25 a week easily on livefood and such so imagine if that doubles up for retail!!! So much for remaining friends

Oh my god! I've just had a meeting with Will the owner of the new shop and I'm so excited and scared at the same time! I'm officially the manager of the whole thing! Livestock, dry goods, STAFF! Everything! I've been given a load of CVs to read so I've got to pick my staff - anyone for a part time job I'll be an evil boss he he he ;D I've got to sort out cages, livestock - the lot!!!! I'm so excited! If anyone can help with suggestions of local breeders of animals etc. I would appreciate that. Thanks - I'm going to read CVs now Lauren

Thats fantastic news Lauren, well done. You deserve it. Im sure that Monkfield and other such places will do trade with you when they find out that you are manager for this other place. That was downright nasty of Neil to do that, when he knows how many reptiles you have and that you dont have an income for now, he will lose our custom through that.
