they are nice- although I am trying to get into arboreals as they have always been an area I have wanted to focus on, but have never felt able to financially until now, although will still need to save as my husband and I have just bought a house ;D

That would be one of my dreams aswell Helen, other than branching out into leaftails. But for now Im sticking mainly to corns and learning to breed them successfully and crested geckos. How long do you think I will last before I start buying leaftails and gargoyle geckos? Snakebreeder sold me an amelanistic hatchling, whos father was from Serpenco, and an anery/caramel( its mother was a snow and father was a caramel). Both were £25 last year and in good health. They both came with proper records of their parents which a lot of places dont give you. PS I dont think we should really put negative comments on here about any shops as they are not hear to defend themselves. Unless a shop wishes to discuss issues on here. I just dont think its fair. It would be better to turn our negative experiences into something positive, like posting on here to let people new to the hobby know what to look for and what to be aware of when shopping. We could also make a poll of our favourite shops, which would speak for itself. Angi

I tried getting in to geckos, but found myself steering away into snakes- it was snakes that got me interested in reptiles in the first place, so I am sticking to them- I like seeing photos of different gecko species, but I don't really feel the thrill of keeping them in the same way I keep snakes (hmm, can't really think of a better way to describe it, lol ;D)- I have kept: leos, flying geckos, and I still have some pictus geckos..but other than that I am sticking to mny snakes, I have a frilled dragon as well, and 2 rescued beardies who were found wandering around a town in cumbria being attacked by a group of teenagers I have also got green treefrogs, grey treefrogs, ummm I have kept dendrobates, but they died for some reason (the breeder admited liabilty as his others died around the same time as well ) umm, hmm I have also rehomed a tortoise (to my twin sister, who loves it to bits, lol) but I just keep finding myself going back to snakes- must be a calling, lol ;D

This is to both Helen and Angi
Lee Warren (owner of millennium reptiles) is an expert breeder of arboreal boas. I think there are some pics of ones he has bred on his website. If it is them your after then he's your man. Do either of you get the 'Reptile Care' magazine? There was a 2 page spread about him and his shop.

Thanks for the reminder , ill probably go and have a look this weekend (if my other half doesnt have other plans for me ) Id like to recommend Ameyzoo in Bovingdon , Herts. Well worth a visit if you can get there. They have some great stock which seems to change almost daily and the venomous stuff is always worth a look ;D

Ice, where abouts is Ameyzoo? Is it near Millennium Reptiles?
Angi, I have a years subscription to Reptile Care Magazine. They have some interesting articles and a gallery where you send in your pics and could win. I think the prize is a years subscription free.

Jimmy ... Ameyzoo is in Bovingdon , just outside Hemel Hempstead in Herts so its not too far away. Well worth a trip if you can get there. He has a few venomous snakes in the shop which are always nice to look at (a green mamba , boomslang and a pair of rattlesnakes) and a very nice albino burm too. They sell all kinds of herps ... snakes , lizards , spiders and inverts and not just the common ones either , you never know what your going to see when you visit ;D. www.ameyzoo.co.uk/index.htmMy snakes were in the last issue ;D
