Im having this crisis myself today. last seen yesterday morning, went to feed it last night, and it was gone , the penpal lid open. We had been gardening for hours with the backdoor open! so she could be outside. So I thought, if it can happen to us , then it can happen to anyone. So a post on finding escapees may be useful . Tips offered so far:- look behind pictures, on high shelves, in shoes and behind vivs, under fridges and washing machines. put flour in doorways so you can see where its been & going Put double sided sticky tape down put mice out to defrost in each room, place on something noisey so you will hear it put a mouse in a pop bottle made into a snake trap9for young snakes) By cutting off the top section of the bottle then inverting it(photo to follow), so the lid goes inside the bottom section, making it easy to get in but difficult to get out. If any one has any tips then please, please post.

Oh no....I know what you're going through. We've had a few escapees over the years. We have found that if you don't find it within a couple of hours of noticing it has gone, they usually turn up when you least expect it. Other than what you have mentioned, something we always do is looking for it when it is dark. Leave the room in darkness and with a torch search round all the obvious places. It is easier to spot them hiding away as the eye-shine is obvious. Other than that it's basically a waiting game I'm afraid. We've had escapees turn up in the most unusual places - a hatchling corn wrapped around a breadbun in a closed breadbin is probably the most unusual. Everything we've had escape has always turned up alive eventually, if this brings any hope to you. Good luck - I'm sure she'll turn up

A tip I heard when one of mine escaped (I found him next day so didn't need to try it) was to put flour round the edge of the room, that way you'll be able to see tracks and get closer to where he is that way. We found ours in the bathroom, under the bath, located him due to finding snake poo in the bath

Sorry to hear you haven't found your snake yet I would try leaving some bowls of water under cardboard boxes with holes cut out. If it gets a drink it will probably stay under the box in the dark.

We had a lovely surprise this morning This morning I was thrilled when I opened the draw of the washing machine to find our young snow corn. She had been missing for about two weeks. Then a battle ensued, she started to leg it back into the machine and I only just caught her, i had to wait , holding onto her for almost an hour before she was tempted out by a pinkie defrosting. My little girl, beth had to struggle to open the mice drawer in the freezer which was packed full, as I couldnt let go of the snake( all this whilst very hungover from a barbecue last night at ours and I couldnt even get myself a drink!)

YAAY! congraulations on finding it! ;D strange place for it to be though! We almost lost one of our hurricane striped corns the other day- Chris and I were looking at the snakes and noticed on of the penpals were open- Steven had forgotten to close it! We had a horrible feeling we wouldn't be able to find it, but Chris spotted it under the computer desk so used a hook to get it out, although the unusual thing was it started chasing us! it slithered quickly towards us with its mouth open and it bit me twice while I grabbed it- we had to use a hook to get it back in the penpal as it was wriggling so much! I have never seen a cornsnake do such a good ATB impression, lol ;D
