:)my friend i live with has just bought three tokay geckos.the biggest one is about 6 inches from head to tail.they seem very thin for tokays or are they quite thin at this size anyway? Also one of them appears to curl its toes on its back right foot when its on the glass,is it hurt? we have put them in a glass tank with many hiding places, branches and a water bowl and are going to spray twice daily.they have a heatmat on the side wall and a red bulb in the tank as well(60 watt),is this a suitable set up?Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks, lee

I don't know if it's exactly the same for smaller Tokays, but when they are adults (they will get to be 10 to 12 inches), the widest part of their head should be about the same as the width of the body. If they are considerably thinner than that, I would over-feed them for a while, with extra calcium supplement. Try to watch and make sure all three are getting some food. For the toes, can it still climb OK? Unless yours are captive bred, there is a chance it was injured during transport from Asia. The conditions they are shipped in are pretty bad sometimes. I would say that if it can climb and move around OK, just keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't get worse. The tank sounds pretty good. You may want to get a rheostat for the heat mat, so you can turn it down if the glass gets too hot. You can get one at a hardware store. Sometimes geckos aren't real quick to realize they are burning their feet/belly How big is the tank? Three adult Tokays will need at least a 55 gallon (some people recommend bigger than that), but yours are smaller so they don't need that yet. Best of luck with your geckos! Stephanie
