I found two the day before yesterday whilst changing their viv substrate to mainly peper towel instead of all sand, Ive given them 1/3 of floor area with sand. I though this would make finding eggs easier as previously mentioned by Jackie. But what happenned tonight, one has laid an egg on the hot side on the paper towel! Id read they usually lay on the cool side and bury in sand. We are waiting for the 2nd one to be laid as we speak. The female is working around very tentatively, poor thing. We have turned the lights off as soon as we realised what was happenning. We will have a peep later tonight. One of the other eggs was broken on one side so I dont hold out much hopefor it, but time will tell.

Were going to have an influx of baby viper geckos in a couple of months on Teeside ;D. Youre mum might have some of her own after all! She laid her 2nd egg on top of a piece of bark! Strange eh? I will post a photo soon, ever ready with my camera

I've only just noticed this post - great photos Angi. Fingers crossed they'll be fertile. I candled my first clutch and they don't look fertile. However, the second clutch look great - nice red veins are clearly visable when I candle them. My other female is due to lay again. What with all the viper, gargoyle and cresteds eggs I'll need to set up another incubator soon!! ;D

We cant find our mini maglight or the next size up. It does work that well with a big torch but enough to show that the first 3 eggs have well developed veins and the new ones have tiny, tiny threadlike structures that arent even red yet. I need to find one of our maglights!

We have yet another two eggs today. ;D Again not buried in the sand, 1 ontop of a piece of bark and one underneath it, same place as a previous time. I wonder if they will stick to using favourite spots.

Great news Angi. I think they do have preferred laying spots. One of my vipers always lays in the saucer of sand. The other chooses to lay in the moist hide.

Sadly our first baby viper gecko emerged today and we found it dead this evening. Hopefully the other one will survive. We will let you know.....
